Yoga Classes

Yoga has been practised for thousands of years, and its numerous benefits for physical and mental wellbeing is well documented. It’s no surprise that this ancient form of exercise has become increasingly favoured in the Western world in recent years. Yoga, with all of its different forms, is now one of the most popular types of exercise in Australia.
Yoga is for everybody – you don’t need to be flexible, strong, skinny, young or fit to do yoga. Yoga is a great form of exercise on its own, or a wonderful complementary form of expression and movement to other sports and activities. The beauty of yoga is that it can be modified to meet every individual need or level of ability. From a light stretch to an intense, sweat-inducing workout, there is a style of yoga for everybody.
Yoga practice brings you into the present moment, which decreases stress and encourages a sense of peace and harmony. Regular yoga practice can help with flexibility, strength, circulation, and increased feelings of calm and wellbeing. It can also lead to a stronger, more toned physique with the added benefit of an inner awareness that leaves you feeling simply ‘better’.
Most of our yoga classes follow a similar pattern. You’ll start with a brief period of pranayama (breathing exercise), then move from asana (pose) to asana in a slow or dynamic pace, depending on the class style.
We also offer specialised classes for pregnancy, postpartum bonding with your baby, mental health, chronic pain and cancer care.
Our classes are 1 hour long, please visit our timetable page.

Our offerings:

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga – half primary series

Ashtanga Vinyasa is a dynamic style of yoga with a set sequence designed to build strength, flexibility and resilience of the body and mind. The same sequence practiced each time allows you to focus on the alignment of the asana, synchronised movement with the breath and the gaze ( drishti ) – allowing you to drop into the moment and make your practice a moving meditation.
